Did you know that the name of our brand, Umai, was not randomly chosen? It is not a made-up word or somebody's name. Instead, it's a Japanese word that means 'wonderful' or 'good'. We chose the name for one simple reason: we want to help people feel good. We want our customers to feel good about wearing Umai apparel – and that includes you!

When people feel good about the clothing they wear, they exude more self-confidence. They worry less about what other people think and focus more on going about the day and getting things done. And that's just the emotional/mental part. Feeling good about one's clothing is also about feeling physically comfortable.

Comfortable Clothing Is Successful Clothing

We are convinced that comfortable clothing is successful clothing. What do we mean by that? We mean that people who feel comfortable in their clothing are more likely to succeed in whatever they choose to do. It just makes sense.

Imagine being a flight attendant for a major airline. If your uniform is uncomfortable, you will have a harder time doing your job. A restrictive uniform that doesn't allow you to move and bend can make it nearly impossible to work in such a cramped space. That is why airlines put so much effort into designing uniforms that are both comfortable and functional.

The same principle applies to T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies. You want to be comfortable. If you're not, you are not as productive as you could be. We get it. That's why we don't try to make more money by going on the cheap. We demand high quality clothing and apparel that is as comfortable as it is visually appealing.

Anime Is Your Thing

Getting back to the emotional and mental side of the equation, we would be willing to bet that anime is your thing. It is important enough to you that you willingly invest your hard-earned money in anime T-shirts and sweatshirts. Again, we get it. You feel good about wearing Umai because it's designed around an art form that also makes you feel good.

Don't ever be embarrassed by that. Instead, celebrate everything there is to love about anime. Wear your Umai apparel with pride. And when people ask you about the images, spend a few minutes discussing anime with them. You may be surprised by just how much better you feel afterward.

Anime has a way of bringing people together. There is a tremendous amount of interest in the art form out there, but fans too often feel isolated outside of the groups they normally hang with. Here's the thing: throwing on an anime sweatshirt or tee lets other people know you're a fan. Strangers who would otherwise not speak a word to you are encouraged to say hi because of what you're wearing. That is a terrific way to start a conversation and make a new friend.
